Black Belts are the foundation of every successful Six Sigma deployment. They facilitate project teams and serve as technical and cultural change agents for the organization. By successfully applying the methodology, Black Belts act as catalysts in spreading the Six Sigma culture throughout an organization, its customers and supply base. In addition, Black Belts are recognized by the organization as experts in data collection and analysis and are often called upon as internal consultants when making critical business decisions. The Black Belt position is a full time position.
Potential candidates for the Black Belt program should be the "best of best" the organization has to offer. Each candidate should possess a willingness to learn, have a demonstrated track record for accomplishing difficult tasks and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

To develop selected candidates into certified Six Sigma Black Belts with a thorough understanding of the following:

	Six Sigma D.M.A.I.C. problem solving methodology.
	Roles and responsibilities and the required culture for Six Sigma.
	Application of the methodology on Six Sigma projects.
	Project selection and overall business goals.
	Communication skills necessary to interact with all levels of an organization.

The Six Sigma Black Belt program is a proven strategy employing a data driven, analytical approach to solving an organization's chronic problems. A Black Belt wave takes approximately five months and consists of five training phases covering Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. All training phase are five days with the exception of the define phase, which contains three days. The training strategy follows the train-plan-apply-review cycle. After each training week, the participants return to their work environments and apply the tools and methodologies learned in training on their projects. A Jewish Professionals Master Black Belt provides on-site project support for each candidate during the application period to ensure their understanding and application of the methodology. Each training session begins with a formal review of the candidate's projects. The review consists of a ten-minute presentation to the Black Belt class and their champions.
